EN QUELQUES MOTS... la mini biographie

Manu Chao nait le 21 juin 1961 à Paris, de parents espagnols. Il crée son premier groupe en 1985, les Hot Pants, en 1985, à une époque à laquelle le rock alternatif est très présent, et à laquelle beaucoup de lieux, souvent "underground" ouvrent leurs portes à toute cette scène.

Il participe également à un autre groupe punk ("Los Carayos"), et en 1987 se forme La Mano Negra, groupe qui traversera le monde entier pendant près de 7 ans, et auquel on doit le formidable album "Patchanka", sorti en 1988.

Manu s'installe en Espagne après la séparation de la Mano et monte le groupe Radio Bemba, avant de se lancer dans une carrière solo avec l'album Cladestino en 1998, et d'enchaîner les tournées, notamment en Amérique du Sud, avec laquelle il a une affection réciproque.
