EN QUELQUES MOTS... la mini biographie

Winston Foster, alias Yellowman, est né à Kingston, en Jamaïque en 1959.

Né albinos, ce qui est loin d'être un atout, surtout dans son pays d'origine, Yellowman va pourtant dépasser ce "handicap". C'est par le reggae et grâce à une voix originale, un flow particulier à des textes plein d'humour qui relatent notamment ses prouesses sexuelles d'une manière assez directe qu'il va aquérir une certaine notoriété, tout d'abord en Jamaïque, puis à l'international.

Yellowman a enregistré énormément de singles et d'albums, les deux premiers sortis officiellement étant "Them a mad over me" et "Mister Yellowman".

L'artiste reggae / dancehall va passer au second plan à la fin des années 80 puis effectuera un retour dans le courant des années 90.

On retiendra également des albums comme "Duupy or gunman", "Yellowman getting married", "Galong, galong"...
